smile Visited the new Joe's Steakhouse on Old Valley Pike in Woodstock, Va. last Thursday. It was great! Couldn't decide between the steak or the seafood...Ended up choosing the salmon. Had a relaxing time out with my friend, Fran, and didn't have to worry about talking a long time over coffee. Finally, a restaurant that's delicious and stays open late! -

We have been to Joe's Steakhouse at least 10 times now and thought it was time to do a review.    My husband and I have tried quite a number of different entrees on the menu and I have to say we have enjoyed every one of them.   The salads are chilled, fresh, and really good.   Try the one with the fresh goat cheese!

My husband usually prefers beef and he loves the prime rib & steaks ~ cooked to perfection.    His steaks (and mine) have always been prepared just the way we like them and we appreciate the high quality of beef.  I also love the seafood, especially the shrimp from  the Light Fare selection and the salmon and stuffed shrimp (elsewhere on the menu) are awesome.    Mouth watering delicious!    The vegetables are really good ~ cooked through but not over cooked.    The baked potatoes and the sweet potatoes are great.

The wine list offers a great selection, too, and we have always been pleased with our choices here.

We enjoy the friendly owners and wait staff  ~ it's always a pleasure to dine at Joe's. If you're in the area, you just have to give it a try!!

They are  open now for Sunday brunch, so we're going today to try that, too.

I think you should give them another look.  They have re-done their menu, and are generally getting their act together.  Their service is now very good -- they got some of the best people from Sal's, which has always had pretty good service.  Their menu has improved, too.  Don't get me wrong -- it's not Morton's or Ruth's Chris, but it's a lot better than when it opened.  And yes, as someone else mentioned, the burgers are very good.

I would recommend the strip or the ribeye over the prime rib, though.
